I strive to make public art that has an expressive power...that is, a nonverbal impact on the viewer that creates an experience. Each piece is different and demands specific needs to be met.Whether the intent of the work is to bring about environmental or social change, or to inspire happiness through humor, one element is consistent...aesthetics.
In addition to creating commissioned works, I enjoy making art that develops within the context of personal narrative. I am present and aware in my life-journey and I find there are many things that need to be said or re-stated through a visual means. Often times, ideas for new work are generated from assignments I'm developing for my students.
