Arts Education

Why Teach…?

I teach because each new day is dynamic. The sharing of knowledge rejuvenates my spirit, and informs my art.  Our mantra at De Soto High School is “Every kid, every day.” This is an incredible challenge and proves difficult to manage at times, but the impact is clear…Teachers make a difference. I’ve been teaching visual art at the high school level since 1997 and many changes have occurred since my entry into the field.  Just as art can reflect present day culture, education is greatly informed by present day events. Thus, the methods of my instruction and the content of my curriculum are informed by the situation at hand.

Selected by Ingram’s Magazine as one of the, “50 Kansans You Should Know” in their June 2015 Issue

“Tim is a very talented designer and sculptor. He has a great ability to listen and integrate ideas from a variety of stakeholders, which can be very difficult. He is the ultimate professional!”
